The IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (IEEE-RAS) Technical Committee on Agricultural Robotics and Automation (AgRA) invites applications for Student Representative(s) to actively support and contribute to the technical, organizational, and outreach activities of the TC, while strengthening student engagement within the IEEE-RAS agricultural robotics community.
πΎ About the AgRA Technical Committee
The Agricultural Robotics and Automation (AgRA) Technical Committee focuses on advancing robotics and automation technologies that enable safe, efficient, sustainable, and economical agricultural production.
AgRA serves as an international forum where academic and industrial researchers, engineers, and practitioners collaborate to advance the state-of-the-art in:
- Agricultural sensing and perception
- Autonomous mobility and navigation
- Manipulation and field robotics
- Precision farming and smart agriculture systems
- Livestock and animal care automation
The committee supports research dissemination, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and community building through workshops, tutorials, webinars, special sessions, and flagship conference activities, including events at ICRA and IROS. Through the involvement of Student Representatives, AgRA aims to:
- Foster early-career leadership
- Enhance student participation
- Ensure the long-term vitality of agricultural robotics within IEEE-RAS
π₯ Role Description
Student Representatives work closely with the AgRA TC Co-Chairs and act as a bridge between the student community and TC leadership. This role emphasizes service, coordination, communication, and leadership, rather than specific research deliverables.
π Responsibilities
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of TC activities (seminars, webinars, meetings, tutorials, workshops)
- Supporting student engagement and in-person TC events at major conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS)
- Facilitating communication between students and TC leadership
- Promoting AgRA activities and recruiting new student members
- Supporting outreach and visibility initiatives (website, social media, newsletters)
- Representing the student perspective within the AgRA Technical Committee
π Eligibility and Term

Term: 1 March 2026 β 28 February 2027
(renewable for up to three consecutive years, subject to satisfactory performance) - Registered MSc or PhD student
- Current IEEE-RAS student member
- Each student may apply to only one IEEE-RAS Technical Committee
